Park your flying saucer or pet dragon at the Inner Harbor and gather with like-minded people at Balticon 2024 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, 202 E. Pratt St. Programming for the 58th fantasy and science fiction convention includes publishing panels, cosplay, filk music, a dealers room and more. This year’s author guest of honor is L.E. Modesitt Jr., known for his “Saga of Recluse” fantasy series. Ticket prices range from $25 to $99 for adults, $13 to $49 for ages 13-24 and free for children 12 and under. 2024.balticon.org

See a new take on a classic at “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Everyman Theatre, 315 W. Fayette St. in Baltimore. William Shakespeare’s play focuses on a wedding party manipulated by magical creatures in a forest in Athens. Ticket prices start at $29. Ongoing: ‘CoComelon’ Party Time

Take a make-believe ride in a hot air balloon and meet JJ, Cody and more friends at “CoComelon” Party Time at the Garage at R House,  301 W. 29th St., this weekend. There will be a coloring/activity center and make-your-own party hat station, as well as a story time and sing-along. Tickets cost $35. Kick off the summer season at the SOWEBO Art and Music Festival at Hollins Market, 1100 Hollins St. The free event showcases local artists, musicians and entertainers.  Musical performances by Carrie Mae, Caveman, Sister Ex, Barnyard Sharks and more. Monday: Memorial Day Ceremony

Gov. Wes Moore will deliver a memorial address at the 57th annual Memorial Day ceremony at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, 200 E. Padonia Road in Timonium. The observance will honor fallen service members with ties to Maryland. On Saturday, volunteers will place some 3,500 American flags on the gravesites of veterans. On Monday, visitors will gather at the Circle of the Immortals monument for the event, which is open to the public and includes placement of a wreath and a 21-gun salute.

Monday: Annapolis Memorial Day Parade

The home of the United States Naval Academy will honor those in the services who made the ultimate sacrifice at the Annapolis Memorial Day Parade. The free event starts at Amos Garrett Boulevard, goes down West Street to Church Circle and then onto Main Street to City Dock. After the conclusion of the parade, there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony at Susan Campbell Park, Dock Street.
