Baker is a writer (“Saturday Night Live Weekend Update”) and actress (Hulu series “Life & Beth”). Experience the daily challenges and the need for accessibility at the fourth annual See Beyond Festival at the Maryland School for the Blind, 3501 Taylor Ave., Baltimore. Play a blind sport, like beep baseball or blind soccer, watch a guide dog demo, listen to live music and more. The event is free. marylandschoolfortheblind.org

Sunday: Baltimore Banned Book Club

Read and discuss works of literature, all of which have been censored at the Baltimore Banned Book Club at Max’s Taphouse, 737 S. Broadway.  This month’s selection is “How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents” by Julia Alvarez.  The story chronicles four sisters living in two cultures in reverse order. The book club meets for about two hours in the Middle Room, located off the main bar on the first floor. The event is free, but food and drink purchases are appreciated. maxs.com

Sunday: Red Shoe Shuffle

3,000 participants run, walk, roll and shuffle in the sold-out 13th annual Red Shoe Shuffle 5k in downtown Baltimore, as confetti dots the sunny sky at the starting line. The benefit for Ronald McDonald House Charities Maryland raised a record $500,000 for their mission of supporting families with children undergoing critical hospital care. Put on your running shoes and red-striped socks for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maryland’s 14th Annual Red Shoe Shuffle 5K Run and Walk, 1 Aisquith Road.
