Among the most, err, eye-catching things about fashion designer Jody Davis are her glasses — dramatically oversized squares and flat-topped ovals that give new meaning to the phrase “framing her face.”
Though Davis has an undisputed knack for finding unusual spectacles, she’s designed her own.
This year, the designer who created Maryland first lady Dawn Moore’s inauguration outfit and whose work has been praised by Oprah Winfrey will create and sell her own line of eyewear made from wood and other sustainable materials.
Davis also is releasing a new line of luxury sportswear that reflects the fashion shifts that followed the coronavirus pandemic.
“Our desire to dress the way we used to dress has changed,” Davis said.
“Women have finally realized we don’t need to wear confining pieces and walk around in high heels. We can be fashionable and comfortable.”
