Things to do in Baltimore, Oct. 4-10

Choose a festival for Latino heritage, global folk music or one that’s just for fun, pick between a classic horror film based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe or a fresh take on a classic musical-horror-comedy play or get some exercise for a good cause.

Enjoy authentic Latin food, folklore, music and crafts while celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month at the 6th annual Fiesta Baltimore in Patterson Park, 2900 Eastern Ave., including an appearance by the Marching Ravens. The Parade of Latino Nations takes place Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. at 4000 Eastern Ave. and features more than 80 participants, from bands to floats to rodeo horses. The event is free.

Saturday, Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Ongoing: Chesapeake Global Folk Festival

Celebrate different cultures through music and song at the Chesapeake Global Folk Festival.  Featured bands include Celtic Corridor, Shelley Kelly Band and Frontier Folk.  Enjoy food, music and art from Kenya, El Salvador, South Korea and India. Dates, times and locations are Friday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Maryland Center for the Arts, 2503 South Tollgate Road, Bel Air, and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Epicenter of Aberdeen, 21 Aberdeen Shopping Plaza, Aberdeen. Get your steps in, improve your health and help out a good cause at the Maryland Kidney Walk at UMBC Erickson Field, 1000 Hilltop Circle.
