In the weeks leading up to the presidential election, 25-time Grammy winner Stevie Wonder will be embarking on a U.S. tour — including a stop in Baltimore on Oct. 15, to play CFG Bank Arena. Tickets will go on sale Friday at noon.
The string of 10 October performances, titled “Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart,” comes at the “height of a critical election season and a pivotal juncture in American politics and culture” and serves as a call for “joy over anger, kindness over recrimination, peace over war,” according to the tour announcement.
The performances are being produced by Wonder Productions and promoted by AEG Presents in partnership with Free Lunch and will take the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” singer to Pittsburgh, New York and Philadelphia before Baltimore, Greensboro, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Grand Rapids.
The musician, who released a single titled “Can We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart” in August, will be offering a “designated amount” of free tickets to “those in our communities who are already working tirelessly to fix our nation’s broken heart,” the announcement says. Before the release of his latest single, he performed “Higher Ground” last month to a roaring crowd at the Democratic National Convention.
He played Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena when it was known as the Royal Farms Arena, in 2015.
“Hello B-Mo,” he said to the Charm City crowd nearly a decade ago. “It is truly an honor to be here with you.”
