As a storm rolled through Baltimore Saturday afternoon, Baltimore’s Artscape outdoor arts festival canceled this evening’s performances — including a concert by Sheila E., who was scheduled to take the Main Stage at 8:45 p.m. — because of “adverse weather conditions.”

“Due to the presence of [severely] adverse weather conditions and out of an abundance of caution for attendees performers and the staff who make Artscape possible, the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts has regrettably had to make the decision to cancel tonight’s performance on all stages,” Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott tweeted on behalf of BOPA from his X account at 5 p.m.

“Artscape is a rain or shine event, but this evening’s weather calls for dangerous conditions, and we must prioritize safety above all else,” the organization’s statement said.

This is the second night in a row that weather led to Artscape cancellations. A performance by Chaka Khan was canceled Friday
